Review: HTC Incredible (Verizon)

This is a cross post by Bryant Plano of gagagadget.com.

I reviewed the HTC Incredible. It was... Incredible?

Hey everyone! HTC was kind enough to send me one of their great smartphones - the HTC Incredible - for review a few weeks ago. I've used the phone long enough to give it a review. I was really impressed by it - by today's standards, a truly incredible device (all pun intended) - I found it extremely comparable to the iPhone 4. Watch my first ever video review below (or click the link here!):

Also, please post in the comments! It's my first video, so I'd like to know your reactions! (And yes, I think I spoke a little fast...)

HP Slate 500 Review

DSRU2ZFYFAJP On the flight home from CES last weekend I had the good fortune of meeting Mike Lammers, CEO of Tricension, a local IT solutions provider company. I asked him what had brought him to CES, and he said he was looking at tablet solutions for deployments of Tricension-developed software. He had an HP Slate 500 tablet on order, and had been eagerly awaiting word of its shipment (which he received as we landed in Kansas City).

Five exhibitors you NEVER expected to be at CES 2011 (but were!)

This is a cross post by John LaPine of gagagadget. CES 2011 is over, but these unexpected exhibitors will leave a lasting impression...

When visited fabulous Las Vegas Nevada for the International CES 2011 last week, we saw many companies we knew would be presenting: Microsoft, Intel, LG, and the like. The usual suspects. However, a number of booths caught even highly trained professionals like us off guard. Below is a list of CES exhibitors we never expected to pop up at the show (but did!):

Please switch to Verizon iPhone 4 to improve my AT&T experience

This is a cross post by Eugene Liu of gagagadget. He's been an AT&T iPhone user since the first generation, and encourages everyone to switch to Verizon so AT&T can finally handle the network load for once...

Tuesday, 1/11/11 at 11am ET. That's the rumored date and time for the iPhone 4 to appear on another carrier, Verizon Wireless.

Verizon made a very big deal about its 4G LTE (not "4G Lite," but "Long-Term Evolution," the coming cellular broadband technology) completion during CES 2011. It introduced lots of new smartphones capable of 4G LTE. It invited press members to a lavish invitation-only event to mingle with executives and PR. It proudly showcased impressive demos of what 4G LTE can do.

Verizon announces iPhone 4

As everyone has correctly assumed, Verizon just announced the arrival of the iPhone 4 on its network.  Existing Verizon customers can pre-order the phone beginning February 3, and new customers can pre-order on February 10.  Cost is as follows: $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB.  Customers had hoped for an LTE iPhone 4, but it's CDMA only.

New feature announced for the iPhone 4 on Verizon ONLY is the hotspot capability, allowing up to 5 devices to connect to the hotspot.  AND… it will be available in both black and white!  The white iPhone has been held back for this Verizon release.  Also, the antenna has been redesigned to hopefully avoid the connectivity issues AT&T customers switching to the iPhone 4 had.  Here's hoping!

The big question here is...  Verizon customers, current and potential, what do you do?  Upgrade now and lock in an iPhone 4, or upgrade when the iPhone 5 is announced this summer?
